COVID-19 Updates

Rio Piedra’s Commitment to Health & Safety

We look forward to once again sharing Rio Piedra with our guests. While much has changed since last season, our commitment to providing an amazing experience has not. In context of COVID-19, we want to assure you that the health and wellness of both you and our team is a top priority.

Our approach to hunting and hospitality has always been to provide our guests with an experience that is unrivaled in the industry. We’ve applied that same commitment in preparing to mitigate risks associated with COVID-19. Prior to the season, we consulted our vendors, listened to health officials and toured best-in-class hospitality properties in an effort to collect insights. Below is a summary of the enhancements you can expect during your stay with us this season and hope this provides the peace of mind that no other lodge is doing more to protect the health and wellness of their guests and staff.

Enhanced Safety and Cleanliness

We are introducing a number of measures focused on intensified hygiene standards which include: introduction of hand sanitizer stations for guests and staff throughout our facilities, additional investments in air purification, more frequent cleaning and disinfecting of all high touch surfaces (tables, counters, doorknobs, etc.) in common areas and vehicles as well as consistent and proper use of masks by all RPP team members. We will make personal wellness kits available to guests that include hand sanitizer, sanitization wipes and disposable masks for any guest that would like them. Additionally, the health of all team members will be closely monitored and temperature checks will be conducted at the start of every shift. Any team member with a fever or displaying COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms will have access to paid time off.

Arrival and Departure

We are taking several steps to streamline our check-in/check-out process. As part of this effort we will collect additional details prior to arrival and utilize online release forms to minimize contact during check-in. Additionally, we will deliver or email final invoices prior to departure and thus minimize the need to visit the office to complete check-out.

Housekeeping

We remain committed to delivering the highest level of service and will continue to do so while incorporating best practices from our partner, Ecolab. That said, we do recognize some guests may prefer not to have team members enter their room during their stay and, if so, we will adjust service upon request.

Dining

To ensure an enjoyable dining experience we are spacing out tables to meet CDC and local guidelines for distancing. Additionally, we will provide more personalized service as we transition from common serving areas and self-service bars to table-side service and delivery of beverages by our waitstaff.

Hunting

Fortunately, social distancing is a bit of a prerequisite when it comes to hunting. Regardless, our team is committed to ensuring your wellbeing while in the field and will do this by continual sanitization of vehicles and proper use of PPE.
